How can Federal Way capitalize the opportunities in our food scene, environmental technology, and the creative arts?
The Greater Federal Way Chamber welcomes Nick Smoot, Executive Director, Innovation Collective, for a presentation of findings from their Innovation Economy and Placemaking Report, at a special business luncheon, at Staybridge Suites & Holiday Inn Express.
A strong innovation economy is a narrative that acts as an engine for sustainable business growth, driving creativity, encouraging entrepreneurship, and embracing cutting-edge technologies. Placemaking is integral to this vision of economic transformation.
Smoot will share the results of focus groups and their analysis of the area, identifying start-up and high-growth industry sectors, as well as optimizing space utilization. Read the Report.

His 18 years of experience range from nonprofit work, co-founding three mobile tech startups, running two venture investment groups, coauthoring and advising on federal entrepreneurship legislation including the National Innovation and Modern Skills Training Act (co-author) and the Chips and Science Act (advising), developing community startup economy frameworks, and co-developing 290,000 sq ft of Innovation Campuses.
