Employer Resource Series Open to Any Business; Webinars Offered in English and Spanish

The Chamber is partnering with Washington’s Employment Security Department/ SharedWork program to provide four free webinars in an Employer Resource series, beginning in March. Open to any business, the webinars will be offered in dual sessions of English and Spanish.  The Federal Way Chamber is the only Chamber offering the webinar series in both languages.

“Our Economic Equity Assessment data shows the strength of the Latinx community as our third largest business sector and we’re fortunate to have a strong partner in SharedWork to support programming for any business in our region,” said Chamber CEO Rebecca Martin.

The Employment Resource series is designed to inform and educate employers and business owners of SharedWork and other programs that support business. The webinars will feature program experts and include dedicated Q&A time for the participants.

The Unemployment Taxes & Wage Reporting webinar on March 12 will focus on unemployment insurance tax and wages. The session will address the key components of tax and wage, an overview of UI tax experience rates, benefit and relief of charges, and audit. More Info
Paid Family and Medical Leave is the topic of the April 16 webinar. The session will address how paid leave works, employer role and responsibilities, and how to estimate paid leave premiums for business. More Info

The May 14 webinar will address the Washington Opportunity Tax credit and the Federal Bonding Program. WOTC is a tax credit program that provides an incentive for employers to hire people who may have difficulties becoming employed.  The Federal Bonding Program protects employers against employee theft, forgery, larceny and embezzlement. The Shared Work program is the topic of the June 11 webinar. The session will include steps to enroll, business eligibility and program benefits, how a workplace can improve with the program, and answers to the most common SharedWork questions. More Info
