Under general direction of the Interim Director of Outreach and Recruitment, the Outreach Program Coordinator performs work using knowledge and experience specific to Highline College and recruitment. This position specializes in high school and community relationships on and off campus, promoting the college, and responding to questions regarding all educational programs and services offered at the College. Requiring extensive involvement with students, staff, the public and/or agencies, the Program Coordinator implements and evaluates activities to determine consistency with Outreach program goals. The position is highly collaborative, and works closely with the Institutional Advancement team, faculty and staff, community members, students, alumni and relevant stakeholders.

Salary Information:
The salary range stated above reflects the starting step of Range 38 (Step C) and ending step (Step L) salary for this classified position. Based on salary placement of Step A, it will take 5 years to reach Step L on the salary schedule. This does not reflect any contractual changes, legislative mandated salary increases or Cost of Living Increases (COLA's) that may be approved in the future. This is a full-time, classified position, which is eligible for overtime.
This position has an alternate work schedule, working Monday through Friday, and occasional evenings and weekends. The College has a summer work schedule (four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, typically starting in mid-June).

Essential Tasks
Reporting to the Interim Director of Outreach and Recruitment, this postilion will:
• Monitor Outreach program activities in relation to established programs goals, within established program parameters, and determine variance from program standards;
• Provide information and advice to prospective students, community partners, students, staff, and/or the public regarding program content, policies and activities, and recommend alternative courses of action;
• Collaborate and create partnerships across campus with different organizations to support; incoming and current students;
• Promote Highline College, Outreach Services and the HC Ambassador program on campus and with outside organizations;
• Build mutually beneficial relationships with schools, community organizations and agencies;
• Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or event;
• Attend meetings and/or conferences as a representative of the Outreach program;
• Perform complex scheduling including independently prioritizing needs of program clients;
• Participate in high school visitations as needed;
• Confer with other campus departments regarding programs offered;
• Coordinate campus visits for groups and campus tours
• Maintain Outreach calendar;
• Coordinate special events including scheduling, staffing, display set up, catering, and publicity;
• Prepare and maintain reports regarding Outreach activities;
• Evaluate Outreach programs and make recommendations to change or enhance programming.
• Communicate with persons outside the College representing the organization to the public, government, and other external sources, in person, in writing, by telephone or e-mail;
• Coordinate and develop content for Outreach Services newsletter;
• Demonstrate cross-cultural communication skills.
Ability to:
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written);
• Use word processing, graphics, statistical spreadsheet and/or database software.

Qualifications Minimum:
• High School completion or equivalent; AND
• Two years of full-time administrative experience with an emphasis on program coordination, data management and customer service.
• Associates degree;
• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a higher education environment;
• Familiarity with community college enrollment services.

Conditions of Employment
Highline College does require COVID-19 vaccinations for all students, staff and faculty –– with waivers for specific exemptions –– for those who physically attend courses, operations, or other in-person activities. This decision was made in accordance with higher education proclamation 20-12.4. A candidate will not be asked to report their vaccination status unless they are hired by the college.
