Description

Join us as we welcome Lawrence Garrett, Executive Director of Advancing Leadership to Coffee & Connections, our monthly networking breakfast.

Born in Los Angeles, CA, Lawrence began discovering the importance of leadership at a young age. During his college years at Howard University, Lawrence began openly discussing his interest in exploring the depths of leadership and was quickly recognized as a thought leader amongst his peers. This sparked the beginning of his leadership journey.

Over a span of five years, Lawrence was able to grow a marketing sales team of over 3,500 people in 12 different states, building his team solely using the core principles of leadership. He later transferred those skills into growing a retirement planning and investment clientele in the Pacific Northwest.

From his successes, Lawrence has been asked to speak across the country, partnering with renowned speakers such as the late Paul J. Meyer and nationally recognized organizations such as the Seattle Urban League. On several occasions, Lawrence was the featured speaker morning inspiration WHUR “What’s in Your Hand,” radio station in New York city. Today, Lawrence continues to speak and lead in the market place, his community, and as a husband. His most popular messages include “SWAGG”, “The Purpose of High School”, and “My Super Hero Leader”.

Lawrence graduated from the Advancing Leadership program in 2010, served on AL Board from
2011-2013 and helped initiate the Advancing Leadership Youth 2.0 program. Lawrence’s vision
is to one day see personal and leadership development as a required classroom curriculum
