Data-Breach - Big business Topic Can Affect Millions of Small Businesses
How well is your small business prepared for a data-breach at your business?  What do those two words even mean?  What can I do, you might ask?  How would your business fare, if you made the headlines in your local media outlets?  What would happen to the trust that your clients and employees gave you?

Would you like to be educated about this risk to your business success?  This topic applies to business in every business sector from for profit to not-for-profit that maintains employee or client data.  Literally every business can be affected by this scourge.

Experts say that most small businesses are ill prepared to deal with a breach and its effect on their business reputation and assets.  Most have no plan how to protect the information that is entrusted to them by clients, customers and employees.  These topics are what we will educate on at the Business Tool Kit next Thursday morning at 8:30 AM at the Chamber of Commerce office.

The national news has been filled with large organizations and powerful individuals suffering painful data-breaches.  Premera Blue Cross/Lifewise, and Olympia Public Schools here locally, the Dept of Defense, IRS and Office of Management and Budget affected individuals all over the nation. Even the head of the CIA couldn’t keep his own private email from being hacked.  Retailers like Target, Home Depot and Michaels and many others made the list.  The problem is pervasive and none-the-less continues to happen with seeming impunity.

Our speaker is Richard Day who is a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist CITRMS and an Independent Associate and Group Benefits and Small Business Specialist with LegalShield, one of our affinity partners.  LegalShield along offers a portfolio of Legal and best in class Identity Protection services for Small businesses, employees and their families in the USA and Canada.  It has also become a popular voluntary benefit across the country.
