Saturday, May 19th 10 am to 5 pm
Celebrate & discover the amazing world of blue poppies (Meconopsis) at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden on Saturday, May 19th. Enjoy the sight of a meadow containing 100’s of glowing, blooming blue poppies! A photographic delight! A horticultural enchantment! Blue Poppy Day will run from 10 am to 5 pm.
As visitors make their way through the Garden they’ll be treated to the sights and sounds of musical and artistic performances made possible by the Federal Way Arts Commission. Visual artists will have their works on display. Aria Dance Company and various musical groups will perform throughout the day.
Pick up some new pointers on “Using Color in the Garden” at 2 pm with speaker, Sue Goetz. The day will offer garden tours, demonstrations, classes, a Blue Poppy Art Sale. The plant sale will feature multiple varieties and sizes of Meconopsis plus a wide range of specialty plants.
"Future Primitive,” a premier sculpture exhibit by the noted NW artist, Ross Brown will be held at the Rutherford Conservatory Terrace.
