Description

Each year, the Chamber focuses on a business topic or industry segment at an annual summit of business leaders.  Having budgets, plans for giving, and financial reserves in place are markers of health and stability for both business and nonprofits.  On April 19, the 2017 Summit focuses on the Business of NonProfits with a follow-up workshop on grant writing on May 24.

2017 Summit topics include:

Luncheon keynote on Corporate Philanthropy: How Giving Works with speaker Joe Lawless, Executive Director for Leadership and Social Responsibility, Milgard School of Business at UW Tacoma.

Branding your Message with Susan Ward, of the Seattle communications firm Team Soapbox

What You Don?t Know CAN Hurt You: Fundraising and Protecting Tax Exempt Status with Bruce J. Lamb J.D., MPA, lawyer, teacher, and nonprofit consultant.

The Power of Volunteers, a panel discussion with Stacy Hicks, Volunteer Program Manager, United Way of Thurston County, Kristina Sperline, Manager of Facilities and Administrative Services, DaVita and Ingrid Hartsock, Community Engagement Manager, Seattle Goodwill.

The Grant Writing Workshop on May 24 will have sessions on marketing, leveraging donors, and funding resources.  Workshop sessions include:  World Vision on Leveraging your Existing Donors; Jeanette Privat, Supervisor, NonProfit & Philanthropy Center, King Co.
