DESCRIPTION:The Greater Federal Way Chamber invites you to join us for a keynote on the State of the labor Market in WA with Dr. Anneliese  Vance-Sherman\, Ph.D.\, regional labor economist\, Washington Employment Security Department.   \n\n\n\nLabor market conditions have been a roller-coaster over the past couple years\, hitting record high unemployment rates followed by record lows in many areas over a tumultuous 24 months. This presentation will provide a high-level overview of the Washington labor market\, with emphasis on labor force and unemployment rates and industry employment trends.\n\n\n\nAnneliese is one of six regional labor economists with the Washington State Employment Security Department\, a position she has held since February 2010. Her region includes King\, Snohomish\, Whatcom\, Skagit\, Island and San Juan Counties. Anneliese works closely with economic and workforce development partners\, media\, businesses and others throughout the North and Central Puget Sound region and statewide\, providing local labor market intelligence to help inform strategic decision-making.\n\n \n\nIn addition to her work with the state\, Anneliese serves on several boards and advisory groups including the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Conference\, the Skagit County Population Health Trust\, the Border Policy Research Institute at Western Washington University\, and several colleges and school districts throughout the region. Prior to state service\, Anneliese was a visiting fellow at the Border Policy Research Institute and instructor at the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University.\n\n \n\nAnneliese has a Ph.D. in economic geography and a master's degree in economics both from the State University of New York at Buffalo.\n\n\n\nExplore our Labor Market and other Economic Dashboards online Here
