Description

The Greater Federal Way Chamber invites you to join us for a keynote on Stress Busters: Managing Mental Health in the New Year.

Managing our stress and mental health isn’t just something we do to get through the holidays. John Grossman and Brandy Atkinson, of Valley Cities Behavioral Health, will share tips on how to increase our wellness in 2024 leading to greater happiness and productivity.

Mental Wellness for Your Workforce
They will also share a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) program funded by King County for all employees and residents of the county. Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Brandy Atkinson, Mental Health First Aid Manager, Valley Cities
Brandy has a BA in Psychology and has four years of experience working in nonprofit behavioral healthcare. She also holds a Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructor certification. She is looking forward to continuing to bring MHFA to King County and especially underserved communities.

John Grossman, Director of Development, Valley Cities
John spent the last 36 years in education as a teacher and then fundraiser. Six months ago, he began his role with Valley Cities to make a difference in the lives of people struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. During the past 30 years, he had his own business as a national public speaker on topics ranging from self-care and wellness to tolerance and anti-discrimination.
