Combined with other community partnerships, the Puget Sound region can look forward to a new aquarium that will be home to hammerhead sharks and other fascinating marine life, an amazing new playground at Northwest Trek, spectacular new waterfront parks, and important updates and upgrades throughout the area in the next few years. Metro Parks Board Commissioner Andrea Smith and Chief Public Affairs Officer Hunter George will provide the latest updates, including photos and artist renderings.
Hunter George is the chief communications and public affairs officer for Metro Parks Tacoma. Before joining the District in summer of 2015, Hunter served as director of communications for Pierce County, where he managed the county's community outreach as a member of the U.S. Open Operating Committee, among other duties. Hunter previously spent 8 years as a news editor at The Tacoma News Tribune, and he spent 11 years as a reporter and editor with The Associated Press in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and here in Washington State.
