Join us for the December Membership Luncheon with our speaker, former Seahawk Michael Jackson, Auburn Youth Resources. Jackson will share an interpretation of the Kirwan Institute Report, The Geography of Opportunity: Mapping to Promote Equitable Community Development and Fair Housing in King County, WA
With a passion for giving people of all ages every opportunity to succeed in life, Michael Anthony Jackson is a popular public speaker. His audiences, which transcend every age, gain tremendous insights from Michael’s ability to translate his gridiron experiences into every day applications that create success.
A Washington State native, Michael’s high school and college careers were spent making his mark on the football field. Attending the University of Washington from 1975-1978, Michael set the school record for tackles in a season (219), and also set the career tackle mark (578). Both records still stand to this day. In the 1978 Rose Bowl, he made the game-saving interception on the 3-yard line with less than two minutes remaining in the game to defeat the Michigan Wolverines 27-20.
A Seattle Seahawks third round NFL draft pick in 1979, Michael went on to play professional football for eight years. While with the Seahawks he earned 21 game balls for outstanding play and was named Most Valuable Player in 1981. Michael retired from football in 1986.
After retirement, Michael went back to school and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in drama, and a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. As a professional actor he has appeared in 15 film and television roles.
