Next year, Chambers Bay in University Place, Tacoma, welcomes one of golf’s four major tourneys with the 2015 US Open Championship. “Our business leaders understand the positive economic impact the US Open will bring to our entire region,” said Rebecca Martin, CCE, President and CEO, Greater Federal Way Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber is pleased to welcome the Pierce County Executive and Open’s Championship Director to share an update on this impactful regional event.”

As the Pierce County Executive, McCarthy’s priorities include improving the region's transportation systems, retaining businesses and attracting new ones, making county government more efficient and transparent, and planning for livable communities with safe streets, quality parks, clean air and a stable infrastructure. She is excited about opportunities for the county, including planning for the 2015 US Open championships at Chambers Bay, which will produce a huge economic benefit for the entire region. Pat has been in public service nearly all her adult life. She started out as an advocate for rape victims.
