Changing the Zoning Code to Accommodate Housing and Shelters for the Homeless
Homelessness and affordable housing are two difficult issues facing communities throughout the State of Washington. To help address these complicated issues, the Legislature recently signed E2SHB 1220 into law. The bill places requirements on cities to accommodate their projected need for indoor emergency shelters, indoor emergency housing, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing.
Join us as for this presentation from the Community Development Department of the City of Federal Way and learn how E2SHB 1220 establishes clear expectations for local governments and provides them some limited flexibility in determining how to meet those expectations.
