Learn about upgrades and future expansion plans for regional public transit as we host King County Transportation Planner III Stephen Hunt, Sound Transit Planner Eric Chipps and Government and Community Relations Officer Chelsea Levy.
Sound Transit is considering a robust new program of rail and transit projects throughout the region that may come to voters this November. Working in tandem with Sound Transit, King County Metro is developing a new bus network and supportive capital projects for the short and longer terms that will be highly integrated with Sound Transit's proposed projects. The symbiotic relationship between bus and rail is becoming very necessary as our region continues to grow and citizens expect attractive solutions for travel.
Coming this March, Sound Transit will open rail to the University of Washington and Metro's bus system is to make significant changes to enhance riders? experience: ease, more connections and travel time advantages for our region's transit system. Come join us for our March meeting to learn more about these projects and their benefits being considered for Federal Way and the three-county region.
By early summer, Sound Transit will complete a regional transit system plan (ST3) for submission to voters in November, while King County will finalize its long-term plan for investments in Metro transit service and infrastructure. Both agencies welcome your help to shape these efforts that will improve mobility for current and future Puget Sound generations.
