DESCRIPTION:Join us at our Monthly Membership Meeting for a keynote from Nicholas Vann\, Interim Director of the Washington State Historical Society.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n                                                            About the Speaker:\n\n\n\nNicholas Vann currently serves as the Interim Director for the Washington State Historical Society. He is a public leader who believes in the power of place to tell stories\, foster community\, and shape a more inclusive future. A proud graduate of Tulane University's School of Architecture\, his passion for historic places was sparked in New Orleans and has guided his career ever since. Nicholas has spent over 15 years leading history and preservation programs\, 13 of which as the State Historical Architect and then Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer for the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP). He also recently served as the Director of Equity and Belonging in the Washington State Governor's Office of Equity. He has directed grant funding for cultural landmarks\, and advised on thousands of projects that balance growth with care for our shared heritage. He brings a people-centered approach to every effort\, working alongside communities to ensure history is not only protected but made more accessible and relevant for generations to come.
